MCSCI runs an MA programme in Christianity and Islam. It includes core units, an elective and a dissertation. It is run in collaboration with the Nazarene Theological College and validated by the University of Manchester. Students can take the pathway in one year full time or over up to five years part time. The units below can be taken as stand-alone courses. These may be run one day a week over twelve weeks or as in intensives classes in a ten day period.
ST7650 Towards a Christian Engagement with British Islam
The unit explores the nature of Islam in Britain, considers issues faced by Muslim communities and examines Christian engagement with Islam and Muslim communities.

PT7655 Studies in Christian-Muslim Apologetics
This unit focuses on the role of apologetics in Christian-Muslim relations. It considers a range of historical and contemporary approaches to apologetics, and critically examines core issues in Christian-Muslim theological debates. It aims to enable students to develop a richer conceptual understanding of specific issues relevant to apologetic engagement between Muslims and Christians, with a view to integrating this with contemporary mission.
PT7656 Church-Based Engagement with Muslims in Western Contexts
This unit explores the issues of Christian Engagement with Muslims at the level of a local church. It considers theologial and cultural issues, and looks practically at areas of ministry including work with children, women and refugees. There will be a particular emphasis on case studies and participants will conduct assessments of church preparedness for developing this kind of engagement.
